Can One Platform Handle Schedule, Maintenance, and Trip Sheets?

4 min read

Owners ask all the time whether a single all-in-one aircraft management platform can handle schedule, maintenance, and trip sheets. Technically yes, most can. The real question is whether consolidation actually changes anything for your operation, or just consolidates your bills.

1. The case for one platform

Consolidation pays off when the same data drives multiple workflows. A reservation should know whether the airplane is grounded for a sticking AD; a flight log should auto-post the per-hour ledger entry; a trip sheet should pull the W&B from the airframe record. Stitching that across separate tools requires API work most owners will never do.

2. The case for point tools

  • You have a flight-department-grade platform you already trust for ops and you only need basic ledger.
  • Your A&P uses a maintenance product (CAMP, Trax, FlightDocs) you don't want to replace.
  • You're a renter, not an owner. Most of these systems aren't built for you.

3. What "good" all-in-one looks like

Schedule that respects maintenance status. Maintenance that knows the latest Hobbs from the most recent flight log. Trip sheets that pull the manifest from the reservation. A ledger that knows the rate per hour and the fuel burn from the aircraft record. Check whether those four threads are connected before you count a platform as integrated.
