Run a syllabus if you want one, or grade freeform lessons against your own standards and skip it. A Part 61 instructor who moves a student to short fields because the wind was right does not have to fight the software about lesson order.
Each endorsement stores its code, title, full text, and the FAR reference it comes from, plus the issuing instructor's name, certificate number, and the date it was signed. It lives on the student's record and the instructor's, not on a page torn out of a logbook.
CFI certificates issued after December 2024 do not expire, so an expiration date is no longer the whole story. Instructor profiles carry a recent-experience end date alongside the certificate, and endorsement records snapshot whichever one applies at signing time.
Medical, flight review, 90-day currency, IPC, and renter insurance are tracked per pilot with reminder emails on your chosen lead days. When something lapses, booking blocks. Logbook entries feed hour totals by category: total, dual, solo, cross-country, night, simulator, ground, and landings.
Grade a lesson against items and competences, then sign it. Signatures re-authenticate with a PIN, snapshot the statement the signer agreed to, and are append-only. Correcting a signed record invalidates the old signature with a reason rather than rewriting it, so the history stays intact.
AC 120-78B is explicit that a Part 61 operator does not need FAA approval to keep training records electronically. You can move off paper today. If you later add a Part 141 course, the same record system is already built against the criteria a POI will ask about.

Yes. AC 120-78B section 1.9.5 says Part 61 operators need no FAA sign-off for electronic recordkeeping. That is a policy statement about your operation, not a claim about our software: no flight training software is FAA approved, because no such approval exists for vendors.
The instructor reviews the endorsement text, re-authenticates with their PIN, and signs. The record captures the certificate number, the applicable expiration or recent-experience date, the FAR reference, and the timestamp.
