How a month actually runs on Resyrv.

Four groups, start to finish: a partnership, a club, a school, and a solo CFI - the friction they start with, how the workflow changes, and the statement that closes the month.

These are illustrative scenarios with representative numbers - the product behavior is real, the groups are not. We publish real customer stories only with real customers' permission.

Scenario 01 - Aircraft partnership

Four partners, one Bonanza, zero arguments

The group

Picture a four-way partnership on an A36 Bonanza. Hangar, insurance, and subscriptions run $1,560 a month. The partners bill flying at $118 per tach hour - fuel plus engine, prop, and avionics reserves - and split fixed costs equally, hourly costs as flown.

The friction

Before structured tooling, this group runs on the classic stack: a shared calendar that double-books the odd Saturday, a spreadsheet one partner maintains and three partners quietly distrust, and a reserve fund that exists mostly as a theory. The partner who flies least suspects they subsidize the partner who flies most. Nobody can prove anything either way, which is precisely the problem.

On Resyrv

On Resyrv the rules the partnership already agreed to simply execute themselves. Bookings collide with nothing - the schedule enforces conflicts and per-partner limits. Every flight closes with tach times that meter straight into charges. The month closes itself: fixed split four ways, hours billed to whoever flew them, reserves accruing into their own visible balances, and a statement each partner can read line by line. The arguments stop because the arithmetic is public.

Scenario 02 - Flying club

A 24-member club whose treasurer got their evenings back

The group

Now a two-airplane club: 24 members, a pair of 172s, $95 monthly dues, $145 wet hourly rate, and $5,200 in monthly fixed costs. Members average about three hours a month - right in the healthy 12-members-per-aircraft band.

The friction

The volunteer treasurer of this club historically spends two evenings a month turning the schedule into invoices, chasing four members for balances, and reconciling a fuel-reimbursement shoebox. Board meetings feature the same debate every quarter: are dues right? Nobody knows, because nobody trusts the spreadsheet enough to argue from it.

On Resyrv

On Resyrv, dues post themselves on the first, flights meter into charges at return, members autopay by card or ACH, and away-field fuel credits against the house fuel price without arithmetic at the pump. Delinquency is policy, not personality: past thirty days, booking privileges suspend automatically. The treasurer reviews a close instead of producing one - and the board argues from the same live numbers, which ends most arguments before they start.

Scenario 03 - Flight school

An independent school that stopped losing students to its own calendar

The group

Finally, an independent Part 61 school: four trainers, five instructors, and the usual mix of private and instrument students. Aircraft bill at $165 wet, instruction at $75, and the fleet needs about 60 billable hours per airplane a month for the margin to work.

The friction

Growth exposes the cracks: students text three people to book one lesson, a scrubbed flight takes days to rebook, and an airplane two weeks from its 100-hour keeps taking bookings it cannot honor. Instructors eat gap hours between lessons; students lose momentum; a few quietly stop booking - and nobody notices until the revenue report.

On Resyrv

On Resyrv, students book themselves inside the school's rules: their instructor's published availability, aircraft they are checked out in, and airplanes with 100-hour margin remaining. Scrubs rebook in the app while everyone is still standing at the counter. Dispatch and return meter every flight into billing - aircraft and instructor separately - and per-student activity makes the fading student visible in weeks, not quarters.

Scenario 04 - Independent CFI

An independent CFI who stopped teaching for free

The group

Last, an independent instructor: a dozen active students across two clubs and a privately owned Cirrus, instruction billed at $75 an hour. No school, no front desk - the CFI is the front desk, the billing department, and the records office, usually from a phone between lessons.

The friction

The unpaid work is everywhere. Scheduling happens across three text threads; a no-show costs a morning and pays nothing because enforcing a cancellation policy by hand feels personal. Invoices go out when there is time, which means late; a few hundred dollars is perpetually owed by someone. Endorsements and stage notes live in whichever logbook was nearest, and tax season is an archaeology project.

On Resyrv

On Resyrv the CFI publishes availability once and students book themselves into it. The late-cancellation policy is written down and enforced by the system - the slot reopens, the fee posts, and nobody has an awkward conversation. Every lesson meters into a charge; students keep cards on file and statements settle themselves. Training records and endorsements attach to each student as they happen, and the month ends with a clean earnings picture instead of a shoebox.

For independent CFIs

Your group's numbers will differ. The workflow will not - and the trial runs on your real fleet, not a demo.
