Renters want one predictable number; owners feel every fuel price swing. A wet rate bundles the risk, a dry rate passes it through. Neither is wrong - what breaks groups is comparing one against the other without doing the fuel math.
A fixed per-gallon price the group agrees to use for reimbursements and billing, reviewed periodically, so members who fill up away from home get credited fairly. Resyrv applies it automatically on every return so nobody does gas-station arithmetic in the logbook.
Publish wet if your members value simplicity and you can absorb short-term fuel swings; publish dry with a house fuel price if you want the rate to stay honest without constant committee meetings. Either way, know your crossover price - it tells you when the published rate has quietly gone stale.
