The instructor evaluation a pilot completes before being approved to fly a specific aircraft type or a club's airplane independently.
In practice
Insurance policies and club rules typically require a checkout per make and model - sometimes with minimum hours in type. Operationally, checkouts are authorization data: the schedule should know which members may book which airplanes, and refuse the rest. Encoding checkouts as booking rules turns an insurance requirement into an automatic guardrail instead of a tribal-knowledge quiz.
