Estimates
Convert an estimate to a work order
Once the customer approves, the estimate becomes a work order in one step. The lines, hours, and notes come with it.
Convert it
From the approved estimate’s row menu, choose Convert to work order. The new job opens as Open with the estimate’s title, its notes as the description, the estimated hours, and every line exactly as quoted. The estimate’s status becomes Work order, with a link to the job.
The estimate needs an aircraft first. If you left it blank, edit the estimate and pick one.
What the customer approved is what the job bills. The estimated hours show on the work order next to the time clocked so far.
Starting before the answer
If Require the customer’s approval before work starts is on in Shop settings, under Estimates and jobs, you can convert a sent estimate before the customer answers. The menu reads Convert to work order (waits for approval).
That job is on hold. It shows Waiting on the customer’s approval, and nobody can start the clock, move it past Open, or sign it off until the customer approves.

When the customer approves, the hold lifts on its own. If they decline, the job says so, and you either cancel it or send a new estimate.
Limits
- An estimate converts once. After that, change the job, not the estimate.
- A declined estimate cannot be converted.
