The four shop roles

Every person on your staff holds one of four roles. What each role can do is fixed by Resyrv, so there is nothing to configure: you only decide who holds which.

Administrator

Runs the shop. Holds every permission, and that cannot be reduced. Only an Administrator changes most of Shop settings, such as rates, fees and emails, or changes someone's role.

The person who created the shop is its owner. The owner is an Administrator who also controls the payment processor, and cannot be removed.

Inspector

Works jobs and signs them off. Everything a Technician does, plus: completes work orders, signs the return to service, signs logbook entries, closes findings, and adds and edits customer aircraft. Inspectors also write procedures and set up automations.

Technician

Works jobs. Opens and edits work orders, clocks time, stages parts, writes logbook entries, keeps the parts and vendor lists, and reads compliance. A Technician does not sign: completing a job and the return to service are for an Inspector or Administrator.

Technicians are the one role whose view you can narrow. You can limit which work orders they see and hide labor rates from them.

Controlling what technicians see

Office

Front desk and books. Handles customers, estimates, invoices, statements and payments, and the sales tax and invoicing settings. Office can open a work order and add a customer aircraft, but does not edit or sign work, and cannot change the parts catalog.

Office can also invite and remove staff. When inviting, Office can only give a role whose permissions it holds itself, which in practice means Office.

Seeing who holds which role

Shop settings, Users and access lists the four roles with how many people hold each. The Role column on the Staff page shows each person's role.

Customers are not staff and hold no role. They reach you through their report link, which needs no sign-in.
