Aircraft Checkouts and Booking Rules

Most groups do not want all members to book all aircraft on the first day. Checkouts and location rules control which members can fly which aircraft.

Open fleet access by default

A new organization starts in open fleet-access mode. Members can book all aircraft that are based at one of their authorized locations. Small partnerships frequently do not need more than this.

Checkout requirements

For clubs and schools, put a checkout gate on an aircraft. When the gate is on, a member must have a recorded checkout for that aircraft before the schedule lets the member book it. Resyrv records checkouts for each member and each aircraft. Usually, a checkout gets its sign-off after a flight with an instructor.

Request a checkout as a member

If a member does not have a required checkout, the member still sees the aircraft. But the member cannot book it. Resyrv shows a prompt to request a checkout. The request goes to instructors or admins, who schedule and sign off the checkout.

Record a checkout

An instructor or admin records the checkout for the member and the aircraft. From that time, the schedule treats the member as cleared, and the checkout shows on the profile of the member.

Authorized locations

In an organization with more than one base, each member has a list of authorized locations. If the home base of an aircraft is not on that list, the aircraft does not show as bookable for the member. This is useful when insurance or club policy limits members to a specific field.
