Billing & Cost Sharing

Flight Packages

Flight packages let members pay up front for a block of hours or a pool of account credit, then draw it down as they fly, which suits renters, students, and discounted prepay.

Three kinds of package

  • Aircraft hours - a block of prepaid hours on eligible aircraft, often at a better rate than pay-as-you-go.
  • Account credit - a pool of prepaid dollars, sometimes with a bonus, that spends against any charge.
  • Bundles - several components in one price, like 40 aircraft hours plus 30 hours of flight instruction plus 10 of ground. Each component draws down against its own kind of charge, so a training bundle behaves the way it was sold.

Building packages

Admins create package templates on the Packages page: the price, what the member gets, which aircraft it applies to, any per-member purchase limit, and a refund policy. Templates show a Sold count once members start buying.

How members buy

Members purchase from the storefront on their own My Billing page. Checkout runs through Stripe; once payment clears, the package activates on the member’s account and a purchase receipt email goes out.

Selling packages on your public shop

Public packages also appear on your public shop page, in a Prepaid Packages section under your other items: the name, the price, what’s included, and (for a linked bundle) the program it enrolls the buyer in. Because packages live on a member’s account, the button routes a signed-in member straight into the buy flow; a visitor is asked to sign in first. Guest cart checkout is untouched.

A package can carry a training program. Pick one in the template editor (Linked training program), and buying the package enrolls the member in that program automatically, no matter how they paid, card or front-desk sale. Someone already enrolled gets the hours; no duplicate enrollment is ever created. A member can buy a "Zero to PPL" bundle online, get enrolled, and draw the hours down as the training flies.

Burning down

As the member flies, hours or credit draw down automatically against the package before other charges hit their balance. The member and admins can see how much of a package remains at any time.

Refunds and forfeiture

When a package is canceled or refunded, the refund policy decides the amount, and you choose where it goes: back to the original card, recorded as an external payout, converted to account credit, or forfeited per the terms the member agreed to. Unused balances net cleanly off the ledger either way.
