Flight Packages

With flight packages, members pay in advance for a block of hours or a pool of account credit. Then they use it as they fly. Flight packages are good for renters, students, and discounted prepay.

Three types of package

• Aircraft hours - a block of prepaid hours on eligible aircraft, frequently at a better rate than pay-as-you-go.
• Account credit - a pool of prepaid dollars, sometimes with a bonus. Members can use it for any charge.
• Bundles - several components for one price, for example 40 aircraft hours plus 30 hours of flight instruction plus 10 of ground. Each component is used against its own type of charge. Thus a training bundle operates as you sold it.

How to make packages

Admins make package templates on the Packages page. A template has the price, what the member gets, and the aircraft that it applies to. It also has a refund policy, and a purchase limit for each member if you want one. When members start to buy, templates show a Sold count.

How members buy

Members buy from the storefront on their own My Billing page. Stripe processes the checkout. When the payment clears, the package becomes active on the account of the member, and Resyrv sends a purchase receipt email.

Sell packages on your public shop

Public packages also show on your public shop page, in a Prepaid Packages section below your other items. The section shows the name, the price, what is included, and for a linked bundle, the program that the buyer enrolls in. Packages are on the account of a member. Thus the button sends a signed-in member directly into the buy flow, and Resyrv asks a visitor to sign in first. Buyers of your other shop items can still check out as guests.

Link a training program

A package can include a training program. Select one in the template editor (Linked training program). When a member buys the package, Resyrv enrolls the member in that program automatically, for all payment types: card or front-desk sale. If the member is already enrolled, the member gets the hours, and Resyrv never makes a duplicate enrollment. For example, a member can buy a "Zero to PPL" bundle online, get enrolled, and use the hours during the training flights.

How members use a package

As the member flies, Resyrv automatically takes hours or credit from the package before other charges go on their balance. The member and admins can see how much of a package remains at all times.

Refunds and forfeiture

If you cancel or refund a package, the refund policy sets the amount. You select where the amount goes: back to the original card, recorded as an external payout, changed to account credit, or forfeited under the terms that the member agreed to. In all cases, unused balances come off the ledger correctly.
