Locations & Facilities

Locations model the fields you operate from. Aircraft get a home base, members get an authorized list, and facilities make rooms bookable alongside aircraft.

Adding a location

A location carries a name, airport identifier, timezone, and address. One location is the organization’s default; single-base groups can stop there and never think about locations again.

Timezone

A location’s timezone is what the schedule is drawn in. Every reservation displays in the field’s local time no matter where it’s opened from or how the viewer’s laptop is set, so an owner checking the calendar from a hotel three timezones away sees the same clock as the front desk. Picking a street address fills the timezone in for you; if a location still needs one, admins get a link to set it straight from the schedule.

Facilities

Each location can list its facilities: classrooms, briefing rooms, conference rooms, and offices. Bookable facilities appear on the schedule like any other resource, and Training uses them when a lesson needs a classroom alongside the aircraft.

Aircraft home base

Every aircraft has a home location. The scheduler and aircraft pickers only offer aircraft based at locations a member is authorized for.

Member authorization

Members carry a list of authorized locations. New members typically get the default location; add more as they’re cleared to operate from other fields.

Moving an aircraft to another field

Changing an aircraft’s home location can strand future bookings filed at the old base. Resyrv walks you through their disposition: move them with the aircraft to the new location (the default), reassign them to another aircraft staying behind, or cancel them, with any late-cancellation fees waived automatically because the move is the organization’s doing. You see a preview of every affected reservation before anything changes, and a flight that’s out flying right now is never touched.

Archiving

Close down a field by archiving its location. It drops out of pickers but keeps its history, and it can be restored later if you return. Aircraft and members pointed at it should be reassigned first.
