Live Flights: Fleet Tracking Board

Live Flights shows who is out, who is expected back, and where each aircraft is now. It is one screen, and you can also use it as a lobby display.

What the board shows

Live Flights shows aircraft that are out now, departures in the next 24 hours, and arrivals from the last 24 hours. Each aircraft that is out shows its dispatch details. If the flight is overdue past your grace period, the aircraft turns red and shows the pilot and the expected return time.

The live ADS-B map

A live map shows dispatched aircraft at their current ADS-B position, with a trail of where they flew. A dispatched aircraft that does not transmit also shows, at its last known base, marked as no signal. Aircraft on the ground show as dots at their home field. Each aircraft in the air has a link to FlightRadar24 for the full track.

Position data comes from public ADS-B feeds. Coverage has gaps at low altitude and at quiet fields. Thus a missing signal means that the receiver network lost the aircraft. It does not mean that there is a problem.

Kiosk mode for a lobby display

The kiosk button makes the board full screen, at a size for a TV in the lobby or at the FBO counter. The flight board is next to the map, and the screen refreshes itself. Push Escape to exit. Times on the board use the local clock of the field, so the display is clear to the people in front of it.

Multiple locations

An organization with more than one base gets a location switcher. Thus each front desk can monitor its own field. The board and map show the location that you select.

Who can see Live Flights

Live Flights is a staff page. The live-flights permission controls it. By default, the roles that operate the desk have this permission. Members do not need it to fly. Their own reservations and dispatches are on the schedule.
