Course Minimums
Lessons tell you what a student has done; minimums tell you whether the hours are there. Define the required hours once on the program, and every student record shows a grid of their flying against it.
Defining minimums
On the program’s Stages page (Training then Configuration then a syllabus then Stages), a Course Minimums card takes one number per category: total flight time, dual, solo, cross-country, night, simulator, ground, and landings. Leave a field blank for no minimum. Save once and every enrollment in the program is measured against it.
The grid
Each student’s record (and their own My Training page) gains a Course Minimums section: every lesson in every stage down the side, hour categories across the top, with stage totals and course totals rolling up at the bottom against the minimums, green where the requirement is met and amber where hours are still short. Two bars head the grid: how many lessons are passed, and how far along the required hours are.
Where the hours come from
The hours are the student’s own confirmed logbook entries, matched to the lessons they were flown for. They are the same entries that back their 8710 totals, so the course view and the logbook can never disagree. A flight whose logbook entry is still a draft doesn’t count yet; the grid says how many are waiting, and the fix is for the student to confirm the entry in their logbook.
