Checkride Records and Pass Rates

A DPE gives the checkride outside your school, so the checkride is not part of the grading workflow. Staff record the result after the checkride. From these records, Resyrv calculates pass rates, first-time pass rates, and results for each examiner.

Log a checkride

Open Training, then Reports, then Checkrides. Click Log checkride. Select the student, the certificate or rating, the name of the examiner, the date, and the result (passed, failed, or discontinued). The suggestions for certificate or rating include the usual list, from Private ASEL to ATP.

If the student has an active training program, a Program field shows it. This links the checkride to the course that prepared the student for it. If the student has one open program, Resyrv selects it for you. Certificate or rating then shows the name of the program, and you can change it.

If a linked checkride is a pass, one checkbox marks the program completed on the date of the checkride. You do not have to go to the program screen.

Pass rates and first-time pass rates

When records exist, the page shows the totals: checkrides, first-time pass rate, overall pass rate, and busts. Resyrv calculates the first attempt of a student at a rating from the records. You never type it manually. Discontinued checkrides count as attempts, but they are not in the pass-rate calculation. This agrees with how Part 141 schools report. Below the numbers, the records table shows each checkride with its date, student, rating, linked program, examiner, and result.

Per-examiner performance

A second table shows the same numbers for each examiner: checkrides, passed, failed, discontinued, and first-time pass rate for each DPE that your students fly with.
